July’s First Friday concert will be presented this evening on the Town Green in downtown Rome. The Live Exchange Band will be the headliner for this free concert, set to get underway at 7 pm. Cave Spring will host holiday festivities both Saturday and Monday, July 4th. Those include the Liberty Day Celebration this Saturday; activities will begin at 10 am and will include a .5 K run, a sip ‘n stroll, re-enactments, a chance to meet our nation’s founding fathers, pageants, live music by Kneckdown, and fireworks at the end of the night. Fireworks will conclude the Patriotic Party in the Park to be hosted by Rome-Floyd Parks and Recreation at Ridge Ferry Park on Monday, July 4th. Those fireworks will be shot from atop Jackson Hill and will be visible throughout Rome, asserts Jim Alred, Recreation Services Manager, who encourages the public to refrain from trying to watch those fireworks while driving down the road.
