The Rome Police Department has a crime prevention tip for Romans – lock it or lose it. Remove valuables upon exiting vehicles, lock vehicles, and report any suspicious activity.
According to a warning on the RPD’s Facebook page –
We don’t want you to be a victim of theft! Keep your possessions safe, locked, and out of sight when leaving your vehicle unattended!
Most common items stolen out of vehicles:
Money
Laptops
Guns/weapons
Phones
Purse/ wallet
Jewelry
Book bags
Keep your belongings safe and make sure to lock it, take it, or hide it!
