RONALD ACUNA JR SECURES WALK-OFF VICTORY FOR ATLANTA BRAVES OVER NL EAST-LEADING NEW YORK METS

The Atlanta Braves beat the National League East-leading New York Mets by a final score of 5-4 on Wednesday night in the finale of a three-game series at Truist Park. That allowed Atlanta to snap a three-game losing skid and denied a sweep of the series for New York.

Ronald Acuna Jr. was the hero of the evening with a walk-off homerun in the botttom of the ninth; it was the first walk-off homer of his career.

Will Smith got the win for the Braves, whose starting pitcher Charlie Morton gave up just one run and two hits, walked none, and struck out eight over six innings. Jacob Barnes was charged with the loss for the Mets.

The Braves will open a four-game set at home against the Pittsburgh Pirates tonight. First pitch is scheduled for 7:20 pm. The game will be broadcast on WLAQ 1410 AM and 96.9 FM; air time is 6:05 pm.
