CORONAVIRUS, VACCINE UPDATE FROM GEORGIA DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC HEALTH; NUMBER OF CONFIRMED CASES REACHES 10,000 IN FLOYD COUNTY

A total of 926 new cases of coronavirus and 22 more virus-related fatalities were reported across Georgia on Thursday by the state Department of Public Health.

According to the latest update by the DPH issued just before 3 pm, there have been 884,283 confirmed cases of COVID-19 statewide. The state’s death toll now stands at 17,644. The number of confirmed cases since the beginning of this pandemic has reached 10,000 in Floyd County, which also had a total of 185 fatalities. Gwinnett County had the state’s highest number of confirmed cases with 86,619, and Fulton County had the most deaths with 1,276.

As of the most recent update to the vaccine dashboard on Thursday evening, 6,414,960 vaccines have been administered across the state; 35 percent of all Georgians have had at least a dose of the vaccine, while 27 percent have been fully vaccinated.
