Many businesses in downtown Rome exited 2020 and entered 2021 on a high note, while others are still struggling in this era of coronavirus, asserts Megan Otwell, the Director of Public Relations for Rome’s Downtown Development Authority. Some of those businesses benefited from a change in their normal procedures to fit these unprecedented times.
Otwell attests that it is important for locals to continue to support businesses now that the holidays are over in order to help them make up for losses from last year.
A handful of businesses have not survived challenges posed by the pandemic, although several new businesses have opened in downtown Rome, according to Otwell.
