A ribbon cutting ceremony was held on Tuesday to unveil the new Medical Extension at the Floyd County Jail. The SPLOST-funded project is intended to meet health needs of inmates. A small group of local officials was on hand for the ceremony, including soon-to-retire Sheriff Tim Burkhalter and Sheriff-Elect Dave Roberson.
