Georgia’s gas prices rose during the past week, according to AAA, The Auto Club Group. Motorists statewide are now paying the average price of $2.01 per gallon of regular unleaded gasoline; that’s one cent more than a week ago, five cents more than one month ago, and 39 cents less than at this same time last year.
It now costs $30.15 to fill a 15-gallon tank of gasoline; that’s $10.95 less than what motorists paid in April of 2019, when pump prices hit last year’s peak of $2.74 per gallon.
Montrae Waiters, AAA spokesperson, asserts, “Georgians may see gas prices inch up a few pennies this week; however, those prices will remain relatively low compared to this time last year.”
Rome remains among the least expensive metro markets across Georgia at an average of $1.92 a gallon.
Sunday’s national average of $2.16 per gallon of regular unleaded gasoline is the same as last week, three cents more than one month ago, and 40 cents less than at this same time last year.
