SMALL TOWN CHRISTMAS IN THE COUNTRY SLATED FOR FIRST WEEKEND OF DECEMBER IN CAVE SPRING

The 17th annual Small Town Christmas in the Country, a holiday celebration of all things homemade and hand crafted, is slated for Saturday, December 5th from 9 am until 4 pm and Sunday, December 6th from noon until 4 pm over at Rolator Park in Cave Spring.

Vendors will be set up around the park and inside Hearn Academy, according to Susan Childers, event organizer, who adds that every effort will be made to provide a safe, friendly environment in which people may shop for Christmas gifts. She aims to support her vendors that have been hit hard in 2020 by the cancellation of many other events due to coronavirus concerns.

Among the items to be sold once again this year at Small Town – homemade jams, jellies, and other tasty treats. Amanda Smith, Childers’ daughter, states that home canning has experienced a resurgence in this era of COVID-19 and quarantine.

Small Town Christmas in the Country will be held rain or shine. Admission is free. Attendees will have opportunities to win door prizes. Discounted items will be available from 2 pm to 4 pm on Sunday, December 6th. Get additional information by searching for the event on Facebook.

Cave Spring’s Christmas Parade is also set for that weekend; it will take place on Saturday, December 5th at 6 pm.
