The Atlanta Braves are just a win away from heading to the National League Championship Series after blanking the Miami Marlins 2-0 in Game Two of their NL Division Series on Wednesday afternoon out in Houston, TX, which allowed the Braves to take a 2-0 lead in the best-of-five set.
Dansby Swanson homered for the second day in a row; his solo home run got Atlanta on the board in the bottom of the second inning.
Travis d’Arnaud also homered for the second straight game. He contributed a solo shot in the bottom of the fourth. Once again, here’s Ben Ingram.
Ian Anderson was credited with the win for Atlanta after giving up just three hits over five and two-third scoreless innings, walking one and striking out a total of eight. Mark Melancon picked up the save.
The Braves hope to punch their ticket to the NLCS for the first time since the year 2001 with a win in Game Three of this division series versus the Marlins this afternoon. First pitch is slated for 2:08 pm at Minute Maid Park. WLAQ 1410 AM/96.9 FM will join the Atlanta Braves Radio Network’s broadcast in progress upon the conclusion of the second hour of Rush Limbaugh’s show at 2 pm.
