BRAVES WIN FIRST POSTSEASON SERIES SINCE 2001, ADVANCE TO THE NLDS

The National League East-champion Atlanta Braves won a postseason series for the first time since 2001 and secured a spot in the NL Division Series with a 5-0 win over the Cincinnati Reds in Game Two of their Wild Card Series on Thursday afternoon at Truist Park.

Ronald Acuna Jr. got the Braves on the board on an RBI double in the bottom of the fifth. Marcell Ozuna and Adam Duvall each had two-run homers in the eighth. Ian Anderson was credited with the win for Atlanta after surrendering just two hits over six scoreless innings, walking two, and striking out nine.

The Braves will now proceed to face either the Miami Marlins or the Chicago Cubs in Game One of the NLDS on Tuesday in Houston. Listen to that game on WLAQ 1410 AM or 96.9 FM.
