Georgia’s gas prices dropped slightly over the past week, according to AAA, The Auto Club Group. Motorists statewide are now paying an average price of $1.97 per gallon of regular unleaded gasoline. That’s two cents less than a week ago, two cents less than last month, and 57 cents less than last year.
It now costs $29.55 to fill up a 15-gallon tank of gasoline. That is $11.55 less than what motorists paid in April 2019, when pump prices hit last year’s peak of $2.74 per gallon.
AAA spokesperson Montrae Waiters says, “Pump prices continue to decrease across the state due to lower than normal U.S. gasoline demand and healthy stock levels.”
Sunday’s national average of $2.17 a gallon of regular unleaded gasoline was one cent less than a week ago, one cent less than last month, and 50 cents less than this time last year.
