Close to 49,000 have been infected with coronavirus in Georgia, per the state Department of Public Health.
According to the latest report by the DPH, there were 48,894 confirmed cases of COVID-19 statewide as of 3 pm on Wednesday. There were 2,123 deaths related to the coronavirus. In Floyd County, there were 281 confirmed cases and 15 fatalities. Fulton County had the state’s highest number of confirmed cases with 4,688 and fatalities with 244.
