KEMP TO ISSUE SHELTER IN PLACE ORDER FOR ENTIRE STATE OF GEORGIA TO COMBAT SPREAD OF CORONAVIRUS

Governor Brian Kemp announced on Wednesday his plans to issue a shelter in place order for the state of Georgia which will be in effect from this Friday through April 13th in an effort to curb the spread of coronavirus. He said that he will sign that order today. In addition, he has ordered all public schools to remain closed through the rest of this school year. The announcements were made during a news conference for which Kemp was joined by Georgia DPH Commissioner Dr. Kathleen Toomey, Georgia Army National Guard Adjutant General Tom Carden, and Homer Bryson, Director of the Georgia Emergency Management/Homeland Security Agency at the State Capitol in Atlanta.
