Georgia’s State Parks and Historic Sites are full of holiday cheer at this time of year. A number of parks around the state have scheduled special activities for this coming weekend, enthuses Kim Hatcher, Public Affairs Coordinator. Those include Candlelight Tours of the Chief Vann House Historic Site over in Chatsworth this Friday and Saturday, in addition to a Santa-themed Escape Room at the Dahlonega Gold Museum this Saturday. Reservations need to be made in advance to participate in Escape the Gold Museum: Santa’s Missing List, asserts Hatcher.
The holiday-themed Escape Room will be open again on Saturday, December 21st.
And if you feel like hitting the road this weekend, you can take a step back in time at Wormsloe Historic Site in Savannah. Colonial Christmas at Wormsloe is slated for this Saturday.
Fort Yargo State Park in Winder has scheduled a Winter Festival for Saturday, December 21st.
Complete details about these and other activities at Georgia’s State Parks and Historic Sites are available online at www.gastateparks.org.
And if you are looking for the perfect Christmas gifts for the outdoorsy-types on your shopping list, Hatcher states that you can get them a gift card online. She adds that gift shops at parks around the state, such as Red Top Mountain State Park, have a lot to offer holiday shoppers, like nature-themed items and Georgia-grown products.
