The Houston Astros are just a win away from clinching the World Series after taking 3-2 lead in the series with a 7-1 victory in Game Five on Sunday night in Washington DC over the Nationals.
Yordan Alvarez, Carlos Correa and George Springer all hit home runs for the Astros. Gerrit Cole was credited as the winning pitcher.
Joe Ross was charged with the loss for Washington. A solo home run by Juan Soto accounted for the Nats’ only run of the night.
The Fall Classic heads to Houston for Game Six on Tuesday night. First pitch is set for 8:07 pm at Minute Maid Park.
