WINGS OVER NORTH GEORGIA AIR SHOW TO TAKE TO THE SKIES THIS WEEKEND IN ROME
It’s a busy time at the Richard B. Russell Airport in Rome as crews prepare for the 2013 Wings Over North Georgia air show. The event is set for this Saturday and Sunday, October 12th and 13th at the airport.
It is anticipated that once again this year, the Wings Over North Georgia air show will provide a considerable economic shot in the arm to the Rome-Floyd County area. It was one of the events with the most economic impact to the area in 2012, according to the Greater Rome Convention and Visitors Bureau.
Air show director Rob Skelton says he hopes that the air show will bring life to the community and foster a love of aviation among local residents.
Skelton indicates that air show attendees will have a chance to get up close and personal with the aircraft and pilots this weekend. Gates will open at 9 am on both Saturday and Sunday.
Advance general admission is $15 for adults and $10 for those ages 6-17. Day of show prices are $20 and $15, respectively. Admission is free to those five and younger. Parking at the airport is available for $15 and must be reserved in advance. Parking will also be available at State Mutual Stadium for $10, and shuttle service will be provided from the stadium to the airport and back.
