WILSON TO SERVE AS ASSISTANT PRINCIPAL FOR ROME CITY SCHOOL SYSTEM

Written by Matt Davis on May 10, 2017. Posted in News/Weather

Dr. Brittney Wilson has been tapped to serve as assistant superintendent for the Rome City Schools.  The decision was made on Tuesday night by the Rome Board of Education, who also approved the appointment of Parke Wilkinson, current principal of Anna K. Davie Elementary School, to serve as the principal of Rome Middle School during the next school year.

This will mark the first time since the 2010-2011 school year that the Rome City Schools have had an assistant superintendent, due largely to budgetary concerns.  Dr. Wilson is currently employed by Calhoun City Schools, where she has served as chief academic officer since 2013; she’s also served as chief executive officer for the Calhoun College and Career Academy since 2015.

The appointment of Wilson and Wilkinson to their respective posts were among a number of personnel changes made by the Rome City Schools Board of Education during their monthly meeting.
