A touring Smithsonian exhibition currently on display at the Tellus Science Museum provides new views on airport form and function.  According to a release from the museum, “Art of the Airport Tower” is composed of 50 photographs by Smithsonian photographer Carolyn Russo.  It explores the varied forms and functions of airport traffic control towers in the US and around the world.  The exhibit opened in June and remain on display through September 17, 2017.

Russo will be at Tellus Science Museum this Friday, July 14th for the exhibition opening reception.  The photographer will sign copies of her book, which may be purchased in the museum gift shop.  At 7 pm, she’ll deliver a lecture about her seven-year journey around the world to capture the photos featured in her book.

For more information about the exhibit, or to attend the opening reception with Russo, visit www.tellusmuseum.org.
