UNITED WAY OF ROME AND FLOYD COUNTY IS HARD AT WORK TO INCREASE TRANSPARENCY AND COMMUNITY OUTREACH

Written by Matt Davis on June 12, 2019. Posted in News/Weather

The United Way of Rome and Floyd County has been hard at work since the beginning of this year.

Allison Mitchell, who has served as Executive Director since January, asserts that much has been accomplished over the last five months to redefine the 65 year old organization, whose top priorities include transparency and outreach to the community.

Mitchell adds that the local United Way does not just want to raise money, it aims to impact lives.

The organization serves 18 local agencies.  Lately, it has joined forces with the YMCA for the 2019 Summer Feeding Program as well as Pirelli Tire for their Days of Impact.  Mitchell indicates that donors benefit from seeing first hand how funds donated to the United Way are used.

The United Way of Rome and Floyd County is in the midst of planning for a kick off to its 2019 fund raising campaign in August.  For more information, search for the organization on Facebook and Instagram.  Their phone number is (706) 622-1990.
