TICKETS ARE NOW ON SALE FOR 16TH ANNUAL EMPTY BOWLS BENEFIT

Written by Matt Davis on October 10, 2018. Posted in News/Weather

The 16th annual Rome and Floyd County Empty Bowls Benefit has been set for Tuesday, November 13th from 5 pm until 7 pm at the Rome Civic Center.  Tickets are now available for the event at both of the Rome Visitors’ Center in downtown Rome and on Jackson Hill.  The cost is $25 until November 5th and will increase to $30 on November 6th.  Attendees will enjoy a soup and salad dinner and receive a bowl created by a local potter.  Proceeds from this year’s event will be donated to the Hospitality House for Women, according to a release from organizer Lisa Ingram.  Guests who bring a canned good for donation will be entered into a drawing to win a handmade ceramic piece by a local potter; chances to win will also be sold for $1.

Empty Bowls is an international project to fight hunger and is driven locally by area potters and community members with a passion to bring positive change to Rome and surrounding areas through arts and education.  Last year, the benefit raised more than $9,000.
