THIS YEAR’S ROMAN RUMBLE ON SEPTEMBER 14TH TO BE THE ‘ULTI-MUTT HEALTH RUN/WALK’

Written by Matt Davis on August 13, 2019. Posted in News/Weather

The 33rd annual Roman Rumble is scheduled for Saturday, September 14th to raise funds for Harbor House, the Northwest Georgia Child Advocacy Center.  It will be held at Ridgeferry Park in Rome.  The 2019 event is being billed as the “Ulti-MUTT Health Run/Walk” as dogs are welcome to join the fun!  The 5K portion of the Roman Rumble will start at 8 am.  Dogs may participate in the two-mile health walk that begins at 8:02 am, according to Joe Costolnick, Harbor House’s Executive Director.

Registration is now online at www.active.com at a cost of $25 per runner and walker.  Group rates are available at a cost of $20 per participant.  Dogs may participate free of charge!

Proceeds from the Roman Rumble will go towards the Harbor House mission to serve as an advocate through the legal system for victims of child abuse. It is unfortunate that this is necessary, says Costolnick, but it is.

The Roman Rumble will additionally feature vendors, food trucks, inflatables and a dog costume contest.

Race day registration is scheduled to begin at 7:30 am.  The 5K is a Peachtree Road Race qualifier.
