TEN LIVES LOST ON GEORGIA’S ROADS OVER LABOR DAY WEEKEND
The Georgia Department of Public Safety has reported that 10 people lost their lives on Georgia’s roads over the Labor Day holiday weekend, matching the number of fatalities that occurred last year over Labor Day weekend. The 78-hour holiday period began on Friday evening at 6 pm and ended last night at midnight. Of this year’s 10 fatalities, six were investigated by the Georgia State Patrol while the other four were investigated by local agencies. Two fatalities were reported in Troop A, which covers Northwest Georgia; those were investigated by state troopers in Rome and Calhoun.
