NEED TAX HELP? AARP TAX AIDE VOLUNTEERS READY TO ONCE AGAIN PROVIDE IT TO LOCAL RESIDENTS
It’s that time of year again, folks – tax season. Trained AARP Tax-Aide volunteers will once again provide free help and free electronic filing for low to middle income taxpayers starting this Saturday at the Rome Floyd County Library. It will be offered every Saturday through April 13 from 10 am until 2 pm and on Mondays from 1 pm until 4 pm from February 4th thru April 15th. Tax help will also be offered at the Charles C. Parker Senior Adult Center at 1325 Kingston Road on Wednesdays from 1 pm until 4 pm from February 6th thru April 10th.
Local coordinator Gordon Leiter says that while there are some changes in store for taxpayers this year due to recent tax reforms, they are not expected to have a major impact.
Those seeking tax help from AARP Tax-Aide volunteers are asked to bring last year’s tax return and all available information for this year. For more information, call local coordinator Gordon Leiter at (706) 234-0931.
