STATE REP EDDIE LUMSDEN REFLECTS ON FIRST WEEK UNDER THE GOLD DOME
The first week of the 2013 session of the Georgia General Assembly is on the books. Legislators began their work last Monday (January 14th) at the State Capitol in Atlanta.
State Representative Eddie Lumsden is in his freshman year under the Gold Dome. He says that along with balancing the state’s budget, legislators will focus on ethics reform, mental health and gun control, healthcare and education.
Lumsden, who beat incumbent Barbara Massey Reece in the November general election to represent Georgia’s 12th district, will serve on the House’s Public Safety, Insurance and Budget and Physical Affairs Oversight Committees.
The Georgia General Assembly is in recess this week, as Appropriations Committee hearings take place. They will reconvene on Monday, January 28th.
