Rain or shine, get ready for splashdown this weekend during Waterfest XIII to be hosted by the Coosa River Basin Initiative at Ridge Ferry Park.  The event will be open from 5 pm until 8 pm this evening, Friday, May 3rd, and from 10 am until 5 pm tomorrow, Saturday, May 4th.

CRBI Executive Director Joe Cook says that Waterfest XIII will be highlighted by a paddle race and canoe and kayak tug-o-wars.

He adds that the headliner for Waterfest XIII is a live show from Southeastern Reptile Rescue on tap for tomorrow.

In addition, Waterfest XIII attendees will have the opportunity to find out if they are smarter than a fourth grader with an Environmental Quiz Bowl for area elementary school students, also tomorrow.

Waterfest XIII will also feature exhibits, food and more.  For more information about CRBI’s Waterfest XIII or to register your canoe or kayak tug-o-war team, visit www.coosa.org or call the Coosa River Basin Initiative at (706) 232-2724.
