SHORTER SPLITS AT WEST ALABAMA
Shorter University’s men’s and women’s basketball teams split a pair of Gulf South Conference matches at West Alabama last night. The Lady Hawks lost by a final score of 60-46, falling to 11-7 overall this season and 6-4 in the GSC. That was followed by a Hawks victory of 73-68. Dedric Ware contributed 23 points in last night’s win, which improved the Hawks’ record to 13-5 overall and 7-3 in conference play. More Gulf South Conference action is on tap for Shorter’s basketball teams on Saturday as they play host to West Georgia. The women will play at 2 pm, followed by the men at 4 pm at Shorter’s Winthrop King Centre. Coverage will be provided on 95.7 FM The Ridge and www.theridge957.com.
Tune in for Berry College basketball tonight on WLAQ AM 1410 as the Vikings and Lady Vikings host Southern Athletic Association rival Sewanee. Tip off is set for 6 pm for the women and 8 pm for the men at Berry’s Cage Center. The game will also air online at www.wlaq1410.com. WLAQ will also have coverage on Sunday as Berry’s basketball teams host another SAA rival, Centre, with tip off at 1 pm for the women and 3 pm for the men.
