SEVERE WEATHER PREPAREDNESS WEEK CONTINUES IN GA

Written by Matt Davis on February 5, 2019. Posted in Uncategorized

The observation of Severe Weather Preparedness Week continues in Georgia through Friday. Today’s focus is Thunderstorm Safety. This is a good day to learn the difference between severe weather watches and warnings, according to the Georgia Emergency Management and Homeland Security Agency. GEMA Director Homer Bryson says, “This state has an unpredictable history when it comes to severe weather.

Whether it’s hurricanes, tornadoes, or severe thunderstorms, Georgians need to be sure of one thing – that they are prepared for any disaster.” Georgians may find resources to help them prepare for severe weather via the Ready Georgia campaign; for more information, visit www.ready.ga.gov.
