ROME POLICE TO CONDUCT STEPPED UP DUI PATROLS FOR ST. PATRICK’S DAY WEEKEND

Written by Matt Davis on March 13, 2018. Posted in News/Weather

The Rome Police Department’s Selective Enforcement Unit has announced that it will be increasing DUI patrols this Thursday thru Sunday and targeting impaired drivers during peak travel times over St. Patrick’s Day weekend.

Here are a few tips from the RPD for a safer St. Patrick’s Day:

  1. Plan a safe way home before festivities begin and designate a sober driver.
  2. If you happen to see a drunk driver on the road, don’t hesitate to report them – call 911!
  3. If you know people who are about to drive while impaired, take their keys and help them make other arrangements to get where they are going safely.
