ROME FLOYD COUNTY COMMISSION ON CHILDREN AND YOUTH SEEKS TO ALLEVIATE CHALLENGES FACING TODAY’S YOUTH
Local restaurants participated yesterday in Too Hot To Cook, a benefit for the Rome Floyd County Commission on Children and Youth. A portion of those restaurants’ proceeds will help the Commission in their mission to help the youth of our community. Executive Director Carol Willis says a recent study reveals that teen pregnancy is the biggest problem facing youth these days, followed by substance abuse. Bullying and mental health issues are also big challenges facing today’s youth for which the Rome Floyd County Commission on Children and Youth seek to provide assistance. The Commission has a five year Floyd County Family Connection plan to tackle such issues.
