ROME-FLOYD CHAMBER CONTINUES ITS MISSION TO PROMOTE ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT

Written by Matt Davis on December 4, 2018. Posted in News/Weather

Rome-Floyd Chamber officials continue their mission to promote economic development for the community.

Al Hodge, President and CEO, attests that there are many good prospects in the pipeline as of late.  Those include start-up companies and expansions for existing companies.

The model used by the Chamber, in cooperation with the city and county, has been effective towards serving local businesses and recruiting new companies to set up shop in this community, adds Hodge.

Hodge says that he is proud of things accomplished by the Chamber since he has been at the helm.  He takes these things to heart as he prepares to retire in the spring; his proudest moments include the arrival of minor league baseball to Rome – the result of an effort that Hodge labels ‘the perfect example’ of the unified approach that the Chamber and government officials have taken with an ultimate goal of economic development.

Hodge will officially retire on April 19, 2019 after 40 years in chamber work, the last 21 with the Rome-Floyd Chamber.
