ROME CITY COMMISSIONERS TO MEET ON MONDAY, SOME WILL ATTEND GMA CONFERENCE LATER THIS MONTH

Written by Matt Davis on June 8, 2018. Posted in News/Weather

The Rome City Commission will gather for their first meeting of the month of June this coming Monday evening.  They will meet for a caucus session at 5 pm to be followed by their regular meeting at 6:30 pm at City Hall (the City Auditorium) in downtown Rome.

Commissioner Wendy Davis attests that she and her colleagues will meet on the second and third Monday of June.  Many of them will be in Savannah for the Georgia Municipal Association’s annual conference later this month.

Davis says that the GMA conference is among her favorite events to attend as a City Commissioner.

Rome residents are urged by Davis (and other Commissioners) to be a part of what’s happening in the community by attending the regular gatherings of the City Commission, which are open to the public.

Ira Levy is expected to address the subject of parking in downtown Rome at this Monday’s meeting.  At their May 21st meeting, Commissioners approved a plan proposed by the Downtown Development Authority which establishes a fee for parking spots on Broad Street but renders the parking decks around downtown free of charge.
