The Rome Braves were slated to play a double header with the Hagerstown Suns yesterday afternoon at State Mutual Stadium, but the rain held off long enough for only one of those games.  And Hagerstown put a damper on Rome’s eight game winning streak as the Braves fell to the Suns 5-4.

The Braves fall to 17-11 overall and 8-6 at home; they are tied with the Augusta Greenjackets for second place in the Southern Division of the South Atlantic League.  The Suns are also 17-11 and lead the Sally League’s Northern Division.  The teams will attempt to get in a double header this evening at State Mutual Stadium.  First pitch of game one is set for 5 pm.  The twin bill will be broadcast on 95.7 FM The Ridge and www.theridge957.com.  Rome Braves radio voice Ben Poplin will go on the air with the pre-game show for game one at 4:50 pm.

The Braves will close out their series with the Suns (and a seven game homestand) with an early Education Day game tomorrow at 10:30 am.
