ROME BRAVES SEASON OPENER HALTED BY RAIN IN CHARLESTON, SC

Written by Matt Davis on April 6, 2012. Posted in Sports

The Rome Braves’ season opener in Charleston, South Carolina against the Riverdogs was halted due to rain last night.  The Braves were leading it 1-0 in the bottom of the first when the game was suspended.  The game will resume as part of a double header on May 18th in Charleston.  Hopefully the Braves and the Riverdogs will be met with better weather tonight as they go head to head at 7:05 pm at Charleston’s Joseph P. Riley Jr. Park.  The game will be broadcast on 95.7 FM The Ridge.  Air time for the pre-game show is 6:45 pm.

It will be an exciting weekend for the Rome Braves as they will be joined by Atlanta Braves pitcher Tim Hudson tomorrow night.  Hudson, who is in recovery from back surgery performed in November, will be making a Major League rehab appearance with the Rome team.  If it goes well, he is expected to start for Rome in their home opener next Thursday, April 12th.
