Written by Matt Davis on August 10, 2012. Posted in Sports

The Rome Braves lost to the Greensboro Grasshoppers for the second night in a row last night by a score of 9-8 in game two of a four game series at State Mutual Stadium.

Last night marked the Braves’ third straight loss after their record 13-game winning streak was ended by the Kannapolis Intimidators last Sunday.  The Braves maintain their lead in the Southern Division of the South Atlantic League by three and a half games; they now have 29 wins and 17 losses so far for the second half of the 2012 season.

The Braves hope to pick up their first win in their series with the Grasshoppers as the teams face each other for a third time tonight at 7 pm at State Mutual Stadium.  Tonight will be a special night for fans as Atlanta Braves legend Marquis Grissom will be on hand, along with the 1995 World Series trophy.  Tonight’s game will be broadcast on 95.7 FM The Ridge and www.theridge957.com.  JB Smith will go on the air with the pre-game show at 6:45 pm.

The Braves’ series with Grasshoppers will continue thru tomorrow night. That will be followed by an off day on Sunday and a three game series in Greenville, South Carolina against the Drive to start next week.
