PORTION OF HERITAGE TRAIL CLOSED DUE TO EROSION

Written by Matt Davis on December 4, 2018. Posted in News/Weather

The City of Rome Public Works Department has established detours on the Heritage Trail due to erosion damage, according to reports from the City of Rome.  The portion of the trail that has been damaged is located behind the Chieftains Museum and is closed off to ensure the public’s safety.

The detour on the trail redirects people to the sidewalk that follows Riverside Parkway; the trail is picked up again at the unpaved service road located just before Fuddruckers that connects Riverside Parkway to the trail.

Public Works is currently taking into consideration options to both repair the trail and correct the erosion problem.

Those with questions are directed to call Chris Jenkins with the Public Works Department at (706) 236-4466 or cjenkins@romega.us.
