PLANTS UNHEALTHY?  GET A SOIL TEST!

Written by Matt Davis on June 5, 2018. Posted in News/Weather

Have you noticed with the recent heavy rainfall that your plants don’t look so healthy?  This is not uncommon, states Keith Mickler, UGA Extension agent for Floyd County, who attests that high humidity additionally contributes to a rise in plant diseases.

Mickler adds that healthy soil is vital to the health of your plants.  The local extension office can conduct a test to determine the health of your soil.  The cost for a soil test is $9.

To request a soil test, contact the UGA Extension office in Floyd County via phone at (706) 295-6210 or email Keith Mickler at mickler@uga.edu.

Fortunately, residents are getting a break from the rain this week; forecasters from the National Weather Service predict clear skies through Friday.
