PLANNING YOUR SPRING BREAK OR SUMMER VACATION? VISIT A STATE PARK (OR HISTORIC SITE)!

Written by Matt Davis on March 13, 2019. Posted in Uncategorized

Spring Break and Summer Vacation are right around the corner!  If you are looking for something to do during either or both periods of time, consider a visit to a state park.  Kim Hatcher, the Public Affairs Coordinator for Georgia State Parks and Historic Sites, attests that state parks offer a variety of things to do, including hiking, biking, fishing, geocaching and more.

Hatcher encourages visitors to stay awhile!  Accommodations at state parks are relatively inexpensive.  The options include cabins, yurts, and of course, campgrounds.

If you are a frequent park visitor, you may want obtain an Annual Pass from Georgia State Parks and Historic Sites.  This will allow you to save money as well as support the park system.  You can also pick up a free pass at the local library.

Annual Passes may be purchased at www.gastateparks.org.  The website also features details about each park and historic site within the system, as well as a listing of upcoming events.
