PEPPERELL HIGH TO CONDUCT OFF-CAMPUS EVACUATION DRILL THIS MORNING

Written by Matt Davis on May 15, 2019. Posted in News/Weather

The Floyd County Schools have planned an off-campus evacuation drill for this morning at Pepperell High School, according to a release by the school system. It is being conducted in cooperation with local first responders. The group held a tabletop drill last week; now it is time to test the plan.

All 19 county schools practice drills throughout the year to include fire drills and lockdowns.  The goal is to improve the ability to protect students, save lives and reduce injuries.  These training drills allow personnel to evaluate the school system’s emergency operation plans and improve internal response skills.
