PATS TOP RAMS IN SUPER BOWL 53 AT ‘THE BENZ’ IN ATLANTA

Written by Matt Davis on February 4, 2019. Posted in Uncategorized

The New England Patriots emerged victorious over the Los Angeles Rams by a final score of 13-3 in Super Bowl 53 on Sunday night in Atlanta.  It was the lowest-scoring Super Bowl in history.

The Pats officially tied the Pittsburgh Steelers’ record of Super Bowl titles at six.  Tom Brady threw a pair of passes to Rob Gronkowski and (former UGA standout) Sony Michel in the game’s only touchdown, which happened in the fourth quarter.  A late field goal from Stephen Gostowski sealed the Pats’ win over the Rams.  Julian Edelman was named game MVP after contributing 10 receptions for 141 yards.  Brady is the oldest quarterback (at age 41) and Bill Belichick is the oldest coach (at age 66) to win a Super Bowl.

This marked the third time that Atlanta has hosted a Super Bowl and the first at its brand new Mercedes-Benz Stadium.
