Are you a sure shot?  The Floyd County Sheriff’s Office invites you to hone your shooting skills and raise money for the Georgia Sheriff’s Youth Home at the 2017 Sheriff’s Shootout.  The event will take place this Saturday at the Floyd County Wildlife Club, 909 Holland Road in Rome.

RAIN POSTPONES ATLANTA BRAVES’ MATCH VS. TEXAS RANGERS UNTIL TODAY

The Atlanta Braves’ match against the Texas Rangers that was scheduled for Tuesday night at SunTrust Park was postponed due to rain.  It will be made up as part of a double header today.  Game one is slated to begin at 1:35 pm; it will not be broadcast on WLAQ AM 1410 as we will be airing the Rush Limbaugh Show at that time and are under contractual agreement to refrain from pre-empting his show.  WLAQ will, however, have coverage from the Braves Radio Network of game two.  It will get underway at 7:35 pm.  Air time for the nightcap is 6:20 pm.

ATLANTA BRAVES SPLIT DAY/NIGHT TWIN BILL WITH TEXAS RANGERS

The Atlanta Braves split a day/night double header with the Texas Rangers on Wednesday at SunTrust Park.  The Rangers won the opener 12-8, while the Braves were victorious in the nightcap by a final score of 5-4.  Texas took the three-game interleague series 2-1.

Get ready for unseasonably cool temperatures tonight in Greater Rome!  The National Weather Service predicts that lows will be in the low 50’s overnight, possibly setting a record for this date.  There exists a slight chance of showers and thunderstorms for this morning that will give way to clearing skies as the day progresses.  Daytime highs over the next couple of days are expected to be the in the upper 70s.
