Georgia Tech beat Duquesne 73-67 in men’s basketball at home on Tuesday night, thanks in part to a game-high 20 points from Marcus Georges-Hunt.  Adam Smith also contributed 17 points.

Flooding continues to be a concern to local emergency management officials.  And though it appears that Rome and Floyd County is poised for a break in the rain today, showers are expected to return this evening.

GDOL TO HOST RECRUITMENT EVENT FOR TCA IN CARTERSVILLE

Looking for a job?  The Georgia Department of Labor has announced plans to help Travel Centers of America recruit 30 employees for its gas station and restaurants in Cartersville.  The recruitment event will be held on Thursday, January 7th from 9 am until 4 pm at the GDOL’s Cartersville Career Center at 19 Felton Place.

COLLEGE HOOPS ON AIR TONIGHT

College basketball will return to the airwaves of 95.7 FM The Ridge tonight as the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets host Duquesne.  Tip off is set for 7 pm at the McCamish Pavilion.  Air time for pre-game programming is 6:30 pm.

AAA:  YEAR-END TRAVELERS FINDING LOWEST GAS PRICES IN SEVEN YEARS

The more than 90 million Americans packing the roadways this holiday season are finding the lowest average gas prices for the year-end holidays since 2008-09, according to AAA, The Auto Club Group, which reports that the national average price for a gallon of regular unleaded gasoline is currently $2.  Georgia’s average is $1.91.
