AAA:  GAS PRICES EXPECTED TO REMAIN LOW IN 2016

Gas prices are expected to remain relatively low in 2016, according to AAA, The Auto Club Group, which estimates that the annual average price of gas this year is likely to end up between $2.25 and $2.45 per gallon, which would be cheaper or at least comparable to the 2015 average of $2.40 per gallon.

THIRTEEN TRAFFIC FATALITIES REPORTED STATEWIDE OVER NEW YEAR’S HOLIDAY

The Georgia State Patrol has reported that 13 people lost their lives on the state’s roads over the New Year’s holiday travel period.  The 78-hour period began on Thursday, December 31st at 6 pm and ended at midnight on Sunday night.

GREATER ROME IS IN LINE FOR A BREAK FROM THE RAIN, THOUGH FLOOD CONCERNS REMAIN

It appears that Greater Rome will get a break from the rain today and into the New Year.  The National Weather Service predicts a slight chance of showers for this morning which will give way to partly sunny skies and a high in the upper 50s during the remainder of the day.  Tonight will be chilly, with mostly cloudy skies and a low in the upper 30s.  The year 2016 will begin with sunny skies on Friday, with sunshine and cooler temperatures expected through the first few days of the new year.
