RFPR TO OFFER FIREARM BASICS AND SAFETY COURSE

Want to learn firearm basics and safety?  Rome-Floyd Parks and Recreation will sponsor a training course on this particular subject on Saturday, March 11th at the Charles C. Parker Center, according to an RFPR media release.

GEORGIA TECH TO OPEN ACC TOURNEY PLAY TONIGHT, COVERAGE ON 95.7 FM THE RIDGE

Georgia Tech will open play in the ACC men’s basketball tournament versus Pittsburgh tonight, and coverage of the game will be provided on 95.7 FM The Ridge.  Tip off is set for 7 pm at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York.  Air time for pre-game programming is 6:30 pm.

AAA:  GAS PRICES HOLD STEADY NATIONWIDE AND IN GEORGIA

Gas prices are holding steady after inching upwards last week, according to AAA, The Auto Club Group, which reports that the national average price for a gallon of regular unleaded gasoline was $2.31 on Sunday to mark an increase of nearly three cents over one week ago.  Compared to last year, motorists are paying 50 cents more for a gallon of gasoline and $7 more for a full tank of gas.

The Atlanta Hawks fell to the Golden State Warriors 119-111 in an NBA outing at the Philips Arena on Monday night, marking the third consecutive loss for the Hawks on their home court.

REGISTRATION IS OFF AND RUNNING FOR SIXTH ANNUAL LEPRECHAUN-A-THON

Registration is off and running (in a manner of speaking) for the sixth annual Leprechaun-a-thon sponsored by the Harbin Clinic.  The event is scheduled to take place on the evening of St. Patrick’s Day (Friday, March 17th) along Rome’s trail system.

HAWKS EDGED BY PACERS AT PHILIPS

The Atlanta Hawks were edged by the Indiana Pacers 97-96 in NBA action at the Philips Arena on Sunday.  It marked the Hawks’ second straight loss on their home court.
