ONE DEAD, ONE HOSPITALIZED FOLLOWING TUESDAY NIGHT SHOOTINGS AT ROME CONVENIENCE STORES

One person died and another is in critical condition as a result of shooting incidents at a pair of Rome convenience stores on Tuesday night.

According to reports from Floyd County and Rome City Police – Lamar Rashad Nicholson, age 28, faces several charges, including felony murder and aggravated assault, as well as weapons charges.

Nicholson fatally shot the owner of the Hi-Tech Quick Stop at 500 Burnett Ferry Road.  Parmjit “Rimi” Singh, age 44, reportedly died from multiple gunshot wounds.

The second break-in occurred at Elm Street Food and Beverage at 204 North Elm Street.  Parthey Patel, clerk at the store, was shot and wounded in this incident.
