MORE ROMANS STEP UP TO ASSIST VICTIMS OF HARVEY

Written by Matt Davis on August 30, 2017. Posted in News/Weather

More and more Romans are stepping up to the plate to assist those affected by Hurricane Harvey.

The Floyd County Sheriff’s Office has established Rome Cares, a non-profit for humanitarian efforts, to organize the disaster relief locally.  Those who would like to help storm victims in Texas are asked to send an email to romegacares@gmail.com.  Additional details about the effort will be posted on the Sheriff’s Office’s Facebook page in the coming days.

Representatives from the American Red Cross (including the Northwest Georgia chapter) continue their disaster relief efforts in the affected area.  The Salvation Army also has boots on the ground to assist storm victims.
