In an MLB postseason update, the New York Yankees and the Boston Red Sox both picked up victories in their respective American League Division Series on Sunday.

The Yankees beat the Cleveland Indians 1-0 at New York in game three of their best-of-five set.  Greg Bird hit a solo home run in the bottom of the seventh inning en route to the victory, which allowed the Yankees to avoid being eliminated from the series.  Game four is set for this evening at 7 pm, also in New York.

Boston’s Red Sox avoided elimination from their ALDS with the Houston Astros with a 10-3 victory in game three on Sunday at Boston.  Hanley Ramirez led the charge with four hits and three RBIs.  Rafael Devers added a two-run homer in the third that paved the way for the Red Sox to charge ahead of the Astros.  David Price pitched four scoreless innings in relief.  The Red Sox and the Astros will meet again today at 1 pm.

Both of the National League Division Series will continue today.  The Chicago Cubs will host the Washington Nationals at 4 pm, and the Arizona Diamondbacks will host the Los Angeles Dodgers at 10 pm.  The series between the Cubs and the Nats is tied 1-1, while the Dodgers lead the D’backs 2-0.
