LivingProof Recovery of Rome has scheduled its annual Garden Party fund-raiser for Sunday, April 28th. “Tunes & BBQ 2019” will take place from noon until 3 pm at Lawrence Plantation, 127 Winding Road in Rome.

Tracy Harrison, Development Coordinator for LivingProof Recovery, invites the public to join in the family fun.  The event will feature barbecue courtesy of Moe’s Original Bar-B-Que and a Kids Zone, along with testimonials from people who have been served by LivingProof, a local non-profit on a mission to help community members who suffer from addiction to attain and maintain long-term recovery.  The April 28th event will also feature live music!

Ticket packages and sponsorships for the Garden Party are available online at www.livingproofrecovery.org.  An option to submit a custom donation is also featured on the website. Proceeds will go primarily towards the organization’s workforce development program, which will soon get a boost in workers with the opening of Next Door, a re-entry initiative that will including housing for women in recovery, according to Harrison.

Next Door, when it officially opens, will only be open to residents of Floyd County.  It will provide a safe space for those transitioning from incarceration to the real world, attests Amy Young, director of the center.  For more information about events and initiatives of LivingProof Recovery, visit the organzation’s website or check out their Facebook page
