IT’S KIDS AND SENIORS DAY AT THE COOSA VALLEY FAIR!

The 73rd annual Coosa Valley Fair continues through this Saturday up at the fairgrounds located at 1400 Martin Luther King Jr Blvd in Rome. Today is

Kids and Seniors Day at the fair with free admission for students and seniors ages 55 and up from 1 pm to 5 pm. Beginning at 5 pm, attendees will pay the regular admission price – $5 for those age six and older. Admission is free to those under the age of six. Armbands will be available for purchase at a cost of $25 each for unlimited rides until the fair closes tonight at 10 pm. Vendors, exhibits, and rides will not open until 5 pm.

The Coosa Valley Fair is presented each year by the Exchange Club of Rome. Proceeds will go back into the community, primarily to the Exchange Club’s Family Resource Center for the prevention of child abuse, according to Phil Burkhalter, President of the Coosa Valley Fair Association.

Steve White, CVFA Vice President, says that other non-profit organizations benefit from the fair as well.

Today’s activities at the Coosa Valley Fair will be highlighted by pageants – Miss Senior Coosa Valley Fair at 1:30 pm and Little Miss Coosa Valley Fair for ages four through nine at 7 pm.
