Written by Matt Davis on October 5, 2017. Posted in News/Weather

Fall’s Finest Festival, the Coosa Valley Fair, continues for a third day today; it  will be open from 1 pm until 10 pm at the Coosa Valley Fairgrounds on Martin Luther King, Jr. Drive in Rome.

Today is Kids’ and Seniors’ Day at the fair!  Admission will be free for  students and seniors ages 55 and older from 1 pm until 5 pm.  Barbara Carter, rising president of the Coosa Valley Fair Association, says that there will be special activities for young and old to enjoy.  Highlights will include the Ms. Senior Coosa Valley Fair pageant at 1 pm.

Activities this evening will include the Junior Lamb Show at 5:30 pm; that will be followed by the Dairy Show.  The Little Miss Coosa Valley Fair pageant for those ages six to 13, sponsored by the Miss Rome Scholarship Program, is scheduled for 7 pm.

Regular admission will be charged beginning at 5 pm.  Armbands will be available at $20 each for unlimited rides until closing.

Current fair president Bryan Shealy says that proceeds from the fair will once again this year be poured back into the community.  Funds will primarily benefit the Exchange Club of Rome’s Family Resource Center, whose mission is the prevention of child abuse.

The 69th annual Coosa Valley Fair runs through Saturday.  For more details, including a daily schedule of events, visit www.coosavalleyfair.com.
