IT IS SEVERE WEATHER PREPAREDNESS WEEK IN GEORGIA

Written by Matt Davis on February 4, 2019. Posted in Uncategorized

The observation of Severe Weather Preparedness Week in Georgia officially begins today with Family Preparedness Day.  It is also NOAA Weather Radio Day, according to the Floyd County Emergency Management Agency.  Local families are urged on this day to prepare for severe weather that can and does impact our area, as well as properly program their NOAA Weather Radios in order to get the latest updates on severe weather.

Highlights of Severe Weather Preparedness Week will include the statewide tornado drill, scheduled for this Wednesday morning at 9 am.  Each day of the week will focus on a different severe weather threat and how to prepare for each.

Get information about severe weather preparedness from Floyd County EMA via their mobile app, at www.romefloyd.com or by calling (706) 236-5002.
